In 1915, Rati returns to the Kingdom of Siam after spending several years in France. Upon his return, he is asked for his help in teaching French to the wealthiest bureaucrats, which he agreed to do for the six months of his stay. During this period, he meets Thee, the heir to a wealthy family, who introduces the country's customs and traditions to Rati. Seeing their approchement with a bad eye, Thee's family does everything possible to separate them.
